Perspectives exhibition and private view invitation

I am busy making final preparations for my upcoming solo exhibition Perspectives, to be held at the Gardens Gallery in Cheltenham, 10-16th April.

Perspectives Sarah Goddard Wed 10 - Mon 15 April 10am-5pm Tues 16 April 10am-1pm Mixed-media artworks by Sarah Goddard, inspired by experiences of local landscapes seen through a lens of sight-impairment and Long Covid. Come in, meet the artist, and create your own artwork inspired by Montpellier Gardens, to be incorporated into a collaborative piece. Gardens Gallery, Montpellier Gardens, Cheltenham GL50 15D gardensgallery 10% of artwork sales will be donated to Samaritans Cheltenham & District branch. SAMARITANS Cheltenham & District

At this exhibition, I will be showing work that I have created over the past two years. This will include local landscapes that aim to capture something of my experience of perceiving the world as a sight-impaired artist. Alongside these pieces I will also be showing works from my ongoing Breathe collection; inspired by my experience of living with Long Covid since 2020.

A landscape-orientation expressive acrylic painting of a park. In the foreground is an area of grass with the back of a loosely painted teal park bench. Beyond this is a dark green lake, with the lower half of a silver birch tree. Beyond the lake are more dappled trees. Two mallards - a duck and a drake - are on the lake, moving towards the viewer.

During the exhibition, visitors are welcome to join me in the gallery to create their own artworks in watercolour, pen or acrylic, inspired by the beautiful Montpellier Gardens where the gallery is located. I will then collage these pieces together digitally to create a composite work that I will display during the course of the exhibition.

I will be holding a private view on the evening of Thursday 11 April 6pm-9pm, to which you are warmly invited.

Best wishes,

Sarah
