Bees and Butterflies

These paintings of bees and butterflies on flowers were created using alcohol ink on Yupo paper. 

Alcohol ink is made from saturated dyes suspended in alcohol. As a fluid medium it can be used to create dynamic, energetic works of art. The ink can be manipulated with air, or painted using a brush. The alcohol evaporates rapidly, leaving behind beautifully vibrant paintings.

Bees on Red Rose

An alcohol ink painting in an off-white mount. The centre of the painting is a large pink-red rose. This abstract rose has delicate wispy petals. At the top of the painting are two small bees one on the left and one on the right facing towards one another.
