Flow

Trail

Flow is a series of acrylic pours created in 2019 and 2020.

​

Acrylic is mixed with a pouring medium and water to create very fluid paint. The paints are poured onto a stretched canvas and then manipulated in various ways. This method of painting creates unique bold and dynamic artworks.

 

This series of poured paintings captures moments of movement and fluidity. 

Trail depicts a riot of movement within water: the currents of the water itself and the trails left by a massive small creatures swimming together. A square abstract acrylic painting in shades of turquoise. This painting has a background of swirls of different shades of turquoise paint. On top of this are tightly curling swirls of shades of turquoise paint moving across the painting to depict movement of creatures within the water.

Squid Ink

Squid ink is evocative of a sudden movement when a sea creature has been disturbed. Previously calm shallow water is transformed into a churned mass of sand and water billowing together creating enchanting patterns. This is a square abstract acrylic pool painting in shades of sandy yellow turquoise and deep blue there are blooms of dark blue moving out from the centre right of the painting towards the top and the left.

Squid Ink is evocative of a sudden movement when a sea creature has been disturbed. Previously calm, shallow water is transformed into a churned mass of sand and water billowing together, creating enchanting patterns.

Torrent

Torrent captures the motion within a stream of water as it speeds up heading towards the edge of a waterfall. This is a square abstract acrylic painting there are lines of blues whites and blacks in roughly diagonal lines moving from top left to bottom right of the painting to the picked the movement of water in a stream with the white showing foaming bubbles on the surface of the water and the black suggesting the debts below.

Stream

Stream represents the motion of water with fast flowing water rushing in the centre and slower currents of water having at the edges. This is a square abstract acrylic painting. It is an acrylic pool painted in dark to light shades of blue, turquoise and sandy yellow. There are lines of movement in the painting from the top and the top left moving down towards the bottom of the painting.

Stream represents the motion of water, with fast-flowing water rushing in the centre and slower currents of water ebbing at the edges.

Forest

Forest represents the dappled light falling through forest canopy, which changes with shifts in the leaves and movement through the trees. This is an abstract acrylic painting in different shades of green and turquoise there are swirls of paint at the top of the painting moving into horizontal lines and swirls across the centre and more curves towards the bottom left of the painting there is a darker line through the middle of the painting with lighter green shades towards the left and more turquoise shades towards the top of the painting.
